Ensure the equipment is completely stationary before conducting any inspections to prevent accidental restarts and potential injuries.
II. Quickly Locate the Fault Based on Symptoms
1. Conveyor Belt Slippage (Belt speed significantly lower than drum speed)
Judgment Criterion: Belt speed less than 95% of drum speed indicates slippage.
Check the Tensioning System:
Check if the tensioning device is jammed, if the counterweight is sufficient, and if the tensioning stroke has been exhausted.
If the conveyor belt has permanently stretched, it needs to be cut and re-vulcanized.
Check the Friction Surface Condition:
Check if the drive drum surface has water, oil, or severely worn rubber.
Try blowing rosin powder into the drum to temporarily increase friction.
Check the Load and Starting Method:
Is the machine operating under overload? Is it frequently starting under load? It is recommended to switch to slow start.
2. Conveyor Belt Misalignment (Deviating from the Centerline During Operation)
Misalignment is often caused by installation errors or uneven stress.
Start checking from the return section: Run the conveyor belt unloaded and observe the earliest point of deviation to pinpoint the problem section.
Check the mechanical installation accuracy: Are the rollers and idlers parallel? Is the frame deformed? Is the centerline deviation excessive?
Check the material distribution and drop point: Is the feed eccentric? Is the guide chute blocked, causing excessive pressure on one side?
Check the condition of components: Are the idlers jammed? Is there material adhering to the roller surface, causing uneven diameter? Are the joints misaligned?
3. Abnormal Noise or Vibration
Noise often originates from bearing, idler, or transmission component malfunctions.
Listen to the sound to pinpoint the source:
"Clicking" sound: May indicate bearing pitting or cage damage.
"Buzzing" resonance: Misalignment of the coupling or loose foundation.
High-frequency screeching: Dry friction of the synchronous belt or excessive tension.
Temperature Measurement-Assisted Judgment: Use a handheld infrared thermometer to check the bearing temperature; a temperature rise exceeding 40℃ requires close monitoring.
Lubrication Check: Is the reducer lacking oil? Is the bearing poorly lubricated?
III. Comprehensive Tool-Assisted Troubleshooting: Use a laser alignment instrument to check the parallelism of the rollers; Use a tension meter to measure whether the conveyor belt tension meets the standard; Review the electrical control system fault records (such as PLC alarm logs) to determine if there is any historical information such as overload or stall.
