What methods can prevent conveyor belt misalignment?

Nov 12, 2025

1. Install self-aligning idler roller sets.
Automatically correct misalignment through rotatable idler roller sets, suitable for short-distance or bidirectional conveyors.
2. Adjust the parallelism of the rollers and idlers.
Ensure that the drive roller and redirecting roller axes are perpendicular to the conveyor belt centerline (error ≤ ±2mm).
Idler roller sets must be installed perpendicular to the direction of operation to avoid uneven force distribution.
3. Optimize the tensioning system.
Use a constant tension controller to adapt to load and temperature changes.
Regularly check the travel of the tensioning device to avoid localized slack.
4. Clean the rollers and idlers.
Clean the material buildup on the roller surface every shift to prevent misalignment caused by diameter differences.
Use ceramic-coated rollers for a 5-fold increase in wear resistance.
5. Install limiting devices.
Install side guides or chutes to restrict material displacement.
Install buffer idler roller sets at the loading point to ensure the material is centered.
6. Regular maintenance and monitoring.
Check the tightness of the frame bolts weekly to prevent deformation accumulation.
Use a laser material flow sensor to monitor material distribution in real time.
7. Improve belt quality.
Check that the joints are intact to prevent aging or joint misalignment from causing belt deviation.
