How do you test whether a conveyor belt is up to standard after adjustment?

Jan 19, 2026

I. No-Load Trial Run Test

Startup Observation: Start the conveyor belt under no-load and observe whether it runs smoothly and whether there are any abnormal vibrations or noises.

Belt Misalignment Check: Focus on whether the conveyor belt edge rubs against the frame and whether the running trajectory is centered.

Tension Recheck: After running for a period of time, check the sag again (it is recommended to be within 1%-2% of the idler spacing).

II. Loading Test

Gradual Loading: Start from a low load and gradually increase to 70%-100% of the rated load.

Operational Observation:

Speed Stability: Whether the speed is uniform under load and whether there is a significant drop.

Motor Current: Whether the current is stable and whether there are any abnormal spikes (which may indicate slippage or overload).

Noise and Vibration: Whether there is any abnormal noise or frame vibration.

III. Key Function Tests

Braking/Stop Test: Test whether the emergency stop function is sensitive and reliable.

Tensioning Device Test: Check whether the tensioning device can effectively compensate for the conveyor belt elongation.

IV. Final Inspection

Comprehensive Inspection: After stopping the machine, check all connecting bolts, idlers, and rollers for looseness.

Data Recording: Record key parameters during the test (such as current, speed, and noise level).
