1. Appearance inspection
Wear: Check whether there are obvious signs of wear, aging, deformation or damage on the surface of the conveyor belt, especially at the edges and joints.
Rubber surface wear: If the rubber surface of the conveyor belt is evenly worn to more than 1/3, exposing the core, and the remaining rubber surface is bubbling and wrinkled, it can be considered that the conveyor belt has reached the ideal service life.
2. Performance inspection
Slip check: Load the conveyor belt to the rated load level and measure the speed difference between the front and rear rollers. If the speed difference is large, it means that the conveyor belt has reached the end of its life.
Weighing check: By weighing regularly, the weight of the conveyor belt load can be monitored in real time. If the weight exceeds the carrying capacity of the conveyor belt, it means that its life has reached the end.
3. Operation status inspection
Slip and deviation: Observe whether the conveyor belt slips, deviates or vibrates abnormally during operation. If the conveyor belt frequently experiences these problems during operation, it may need to be replaced.
Failure frequency: If the conveyor belt frequently fails, such as tearing, breaking, etc., it means that it has aged and needs to be replaced.
4. Service life assessment
Service life under normal use conditions: Under normal use and maintenance, the replacement cycle of the conveyor belt is usually between 2 and 5 years.
Service life in harsh environments: If the conveyor belt is used in harsh environments such as high temperature, humidity, corrosion, etc., its service life will be shortened and it needs to be inspected and replaced more frequently.
5. Maintenance records
Regular inspection records: Establish detailed maintenance records to record the content, time, replaced parts and other information of each inspection and maintenance. By analyzing the maintenance records, potential problems in the operation of the equipment can be identified and preventive measures can be taken in advance.
6. Economic evaluation
Cost-benefit analysis: If the maintenance cost of the conveyor belt is too high, or its normal operation cannot be guaranteed after maintenance, replacing a new conveyor belt may be a more reasonable choice from an economic point of view.
