How to maintain PU conveyor belts under extreme temperatures?

Dec 20, 2024

1. Temperature adaptability:
PU conveyor belts can usually operate in a temperature range of -30°C to 90°C. For extreme temperatures beyond this range, special attention should be paid to the fact that the performance of the conveyor belt may be affected.
2. Avoid direct high temperature:
PU conveyor belts should be avoided from being exposed to high temperatures and sunlight to prevent material aging and performance degradation.
3. Cleaning and maintenance:
Under extreme temperatures, PU conveyor belts should be cleaned regularly to remove dust and oil that may accelerate material aging.
4. Prevent chemical corrosion:
Avoid contact between PU conveyor belts and engine oil, transformer oil, and strong acid and alkali objects to prevent chemical corrosion.
5. Cleaning method:
If the PU conveyor belt is dirty, it should be cleaned with soap and then dried with talcum powder. If tar and paint are stuck, the contaminated area should be wiped immediately with an appropriate solvent to avoid excessive use of solvent.
6. Drying treatment:
The damp PU conveyor belt should be dried, but the drying temperature should not exceed 65°C.
7. Avoid overload:
Under extreme temperatures, special attention should be paid to avoid overload. Long-term overload operation will accelerate equipment damage and affect service life.
8. Safe use:
Pay attention to safe operation, avoid damage such as bumps and scratches, and keep the conveyor belt clean and dry to avoid poor sliding due to water accumulation.
9. Technical training:
Train the staff using PU conveyor belts to make them understand the operating procedures, maintenance methods, etc., and improve maintenance awareness and technical level.
10. Adjust the tension in time:
In a high temperature environment, the conveyor belt is prone to heat expansion and deformation, so it is necessary to adjust the tension in time to maintain the stable operation of the conveyor belt.
