1. Pre-lubrication Preparation
Shutdown and Power Off: Ensure the conveyor belt is completely stopped and the power is disconnected to avoid any danger during operation.
Cleaning Lubrication Points: Use a soft cloth or vacuum cleaner to remove oil and dust from lubricated areas such as rollers and bearings to prevent impurities from mixing with the new grease.
Choosing Lubricant: Use a lubricant that matches the equipment requirements (such as food-grade silicone grease or high-temperature grease). Do not mix different types of grease.
2. Lubrication Procedures
Three-Stage Filtration: Ensure the grease is clean and free of impurities through a series of filtration steps from the oil reservoir to the oil can and then to the oiling tool.
Apply Evenly:
Roller Bearings: Use a grease gun or oil can to slowly inject grease until the old grease is squeezed out (avoid overfilling).
Roller Shaft Ends: Apply a small amount to ensure smooth rotation. Check the oil level: Use the oil window or oil gauge to confirm that the oil level meets the equipment specifications (e.g., the oil level is between 1/2 and 2/3 of the way down the scale).
3. Post-lubrication Inspection and Cleaning
Test Run Observation: Start the conveyor belt at low speed and check for any unusual noise or vibration to confirm lubrication effectiveness.
Cleaning Up the Site: Wipe away any spilled grease and retrieve tools to avoid contaminating the conveyor belt or the floor.
4. Precautions
Safety Precautions: Wear oil-resistant gloves and goggles to avoid contact between the oil and skin and eyes.
Environmental Adaptability:
Lubrication intervals should be shortened (e.g., once a week) in dusty environments.
Use a waterproof grease in humid environments.
Avoid Contamination: Avoid contact between the PVC conveyor belt surface and grease to prevent slippage and material degradation.
5. Maintenance Recommendations
Regular Lubrication: Develop a schedule based on frequency of use (e.g., every 500 hours or once a month). Record tracking: Record each lubrication time, grease type and amount to facilitate tracing problems.
