What to do if the Guide Bar Conveyor Belt deviates?

Aug 01, 2025

1. Check the installation specifications
Irregular installation: The conveyor belt is not adjusted according to the standard procedure during installation, or the installation is not firm, and the frame is not flat.
Solution: Strictly follow the installation specifications to ensure that the conveyor frame and each component of the conveyor belt are firmly installed and the frame is flat.
2. Adjust the rollers and idlers
The roller axis is not vertical: The axis of the drive roller or the redirection roller is not perpendicular to the center line of the conveyor, causing the conveyor belt to deviate.
Solution: Use a precision level to adjust the horizontal deviation of the drive roller to within 0.5 mm, and control the vertical deviation of the guide roller and the running direction of the conveyor belt to within 1°. For the head roller, if the conveyor belt deviates to the right, the right bearing seat should be moved forward; if it deviates to the left, the left bearing seat should be moved forward.
The idler axis is not vertical: The idler axis is not perpendicular to the center line of the conveyor, causing the conveyor belt to deviate.
Solution: Adjust the position of the idler group so that it is perpendicular to the center line of the conveyor. If the roller group is installed in the deviation section, it can be installed with a forward tilt of 3°-5°, and the rotation force of the roller can be used to offset the deviation trend.
3. Check the conveyor belt itself
Improper joint of the conveyor belt: The conveyor belt joint is not connected correctly, resulting in uneven tension on both sides.
Solution: Reconnect the conveyor belt joint to ensure that the joint is straight.
Aging and wear of the conveyor belt: The conveyor belt is aged and worn after long-term use, and uneven surface wear causes bending.
Solution: Regularly check the wear of the conveyor belt and replace the aged or severely worn conveyor belt in time.
4. Adjust the tensioning device
Uneven tension: Improper adjustment of the tensioner or insufficient tension causes greater force on one side of the conveyor belt.
Solution: Regularly check and adjust the tensioning device to ensure uniform tension of the conveyor belt.
5. Check the material distribution
Uneven material distribution: The material is unevenly distributed or piled on one side when entering the conveyor belt, resulting in uneven force on the conveyor belt.
Solution: Optimize the feeding system to ensure that the material is evenly distributed on the conveyor belt.
6. Check external interference
External interference: External environmental factors such as wind and vibration interfere with the operation of the conveyor belt.
Solution: Set up protective measures around the conveyor belt to reduce the interference of the external environment on the conveyor belt.
7. Use self-aligning roller sets
Self-aligning roller sets: Installing self-aligning roller sets can help automatically correct the deviation of the conveyor belt.
Solution: Install self-aligning roller sets on both sides of the conveyor belt to ensure that they can automatically adjust the position of the conveyor belt.
8. Check the installation of the guide plate
Improper installation of the guide plate: Incorrect or loose installation of the guide plate may cause the conveyor belt to deviate.
Solution: Check the installation position and fixing of the guide plate to ensure that the guide plate is tightly combined with the conveyor belt and the installation position is correct.
